The contestants finalize their registrations, turn in their scrapbooks, and for the last two years the reigning Miss Rodeo America would pin the state sashes on each contestant.  The contestants and their parents get a chance to mix and mingle prior to this happening.  Racks of clothes and accessories fill the registration area.  The tension and anticipation is thick enough to slice at this point in the competition.
