THE MILLENNIUM RODEO QUEEN

HAPPY NEW MILLENNIUM!

I can't help but wonder what the new year has to offer. How will the western wardrobe change for the new century? Will plastic be more of our wardrobe than just in the jeans? Will we have entry forms to fill out over the Internet? Whatever changes are made, we always seem to adjust with no problem.

HAVE YOU MADE YOUR NEW YEAR PAGEANT RESOLUTIONS?

Below are listed a few to consider before entering this years pageants:

I will shed off those extra pounds.
I will eat all the right foods so my skin and hair will look vibrant.
I will carry visine and lipstick with me always.
I will spend more time putting on makeup to create a face that will last all day.
I will work on my posture at all times, so I will be natural at standing straight.
I will do a hot oil treatment on my hair before each pageant.
I will practice my speech in front of various groups of people.
I will select a modeling outfit that is different and unique from all others.
I will know everything about my horse (age, breeding, parts of horse, diseases).
I will allow enough time before horsemanship to warm up my horse.
I will remember to wipe the dust off my boots after mounting a horse.
I will know the facts regarding the association, rodeo, and pageant I’m competing for.
I will try to find out the judges profession, likes, and dislikes prior to competition.
I will know everything about my tack (brand, tooling design, purpose of bit, length of shank, why you chose it, size of seat).
I will thank all the pageant sponsors either personally or with a thank you card.
I will make sure my hat is shaped with current trends.
I will be more enthusiastic, full of energy, and always smiling.
I will be more independent of my parents when competing.
I will keep up with current world events by newspaper or television.
I will always try to obtain scoresheets so I can improve my weak areas.

MOST OF ALL, NEVER GIVE UP! IF ITS YOUR DREAM, GO FOR IT!
