Alyssa Plackemeir, formerly Miss Rodeo Sand Hills Teen, was crowned Miss Rodeo Texas Teen 2003 Thursday night June 19, 2003 at The San Pedro Playhouse in downtown San Antonio by Clesta Harvey, Miss Rodeo Texas Teen 2002 rounding out four days of competition for the title. This was the second year Miss Plackemeir competed. She won the photogenic award last year.
Miss Plackemeir also won category awards in Personality, Appearance, Horsemanship and Speech.
First Runner Up was Chelsa Beggs, Miss Rodeo Lufkin. She also won the Photogenic Award.
Ginny Jackson took the Miss Congeniality Award. This is the award voted on by the contestants.
Also entered in the contest were Hillary Roudon, Miss Rodeo North Texas State Fair Teen; Crissy Bell, Miss Lone Star High School Rodeo; Renee Beatty, Miss Stockyards Championship Rodeo and Michaelle Blake, Miss Jasper Lions Club. Miss Rodeo Texas Teen 2003 will receive a Trophy saddle from Tex Tan; a Trophy Buckle from Lopez Brothers Silversmiths; a hat from Milanno Hat Company; boots from Boot Hill; a 14 carat gold ring from Collazo Jewelers; a briefcase from Harvey and Sue Schwarz; a purse from Mallory Western and Leather; Wrangler jeans from Wrangler; a hat carrier from Jeannette Galin; Mohair jacket from Delores Unique Designs; a Texas license plate photo plate from Pat Bowen; a vest from Texas Wild West Kids; Texas Lone Star Luggage from the Concealment Luggage shop. Gifts and awards presented to Miss Rodeo Texas Teen 2003 from Miss Rodeo Texas Inc included a Scholarship; a boot bag; a two-horse trailer; a Plaque; personal stationery; banner and a contract with Miss Rodeo Texas Inc. Judging, Emcees and entertainment was the same as The Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant.
